Dürr was founded in 1895 and is a world leader in the mechanical engineering industry. In 2015, Dürr’s sales revenue exceeded 3.6 billion euro with a workforce of over 14,200 employees. Dürr has 93 business locations and 50 factories in 28 countries, providing painting and assembly production lines for global automobile manufacturers and their suppliers. With a market share of more than 70%, Dürr occupies a significant role in the field of global automobile paint systems. Dürr’s three sub-brands Dürr, Schenck, and Homag are each leaders in their respective industries.

The first cooperation with SVW in 1983 laid the foundation for Dürr’s entrance into the Chinese market. In 1997, Dürr Paintshop Systems Engineering (Shanghai) Co., Ltd was established. Over two decades of hard work from Dürr’s staff has helped business in China grow rapidly. This has caused the original workforce to expand from roughly a dozen people to over a thousand current staff members. Successful cooperation with SGM, FAW-VW, BMW Brilliance, Beijing Benz, as well as with other prominent automobile manufacturers, has helped Dürr win even greater recognition from the market.
